This company contacted me today threatening to file a civil lawsuit against my father for unpaid credit card debt. The caller was extremely confrontational and refused to identify what type of company ACM was or what the initials "ACM" stood for. When I asked if it was a law firm, he said "Yes, absolutely," which I now know to be a lie. He said the suit would be filed if payment was not received within 3 hours. I looked up the business and found out that it is a collection agency, not a law firm and realize that this was just harrassment and a scare tactic. Although I specifically requested it, I have not received anything in writing confirming my father's debt, only a demand for payment. I'm not even sure this is a legitimate debt.
