On August 16, 2011 I decided to use FreeCreditScore.com to check my credit. The reason for using them was to due their 7 day free trial advertising. When entering their website, the first page does not clearing disclose as to who you are actually dealing with. The Experian logo is on the far bottom right corner. The second page again does not disclose clearly and concisely that this is an Experian website. It asks for your information and then for a credit card number. It states that a $14.95 charge would be made to your credit card if you did not cancel in 7 days. So far, I still don't really know this is Experian. When getting to the next page it asks you if you want to get all 3 reports. The fee would be $29.95. My understanding is that the $29.95 would be charged to my credit card AFTER THE 7 DAY TRIAL IF NOT CANCELLED. After reading my credit reports and on the same day, I immediately called and cancelled. When receiving my credit card statement I saw that I was charged the $29.95. I called Free Credit Score to verify I had cancelled within the 7 day TRIAL PERIOD. They verified it. I then called my credit card company and they said it would take 30 days. Today I received my credit card statement and still no credit. When talking to the customer service rep at Free Credit Score (who I could barely understand), she said because I pushed the upgrade button I would be charged. After asking for a supervisor, I was told that I would only receive a $15.00 credit. THIS IS A SCAM--AND THESE ARE THE COMPANIES GIVING US A CREDIT SCORE??? I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH A $15 CREDIT. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE CLEAR AND DISCLOSE EVERYING on their website SO PEOPLE ARE NOT MISGUIDED. After reading many of the other complaints, I see I am not the only one that this has happened to. I would like my entire $29.95 refunded and I highly suggest that FREECREDITSCORE.COM revise their website. If we had all the information CLEARLY upfront, then the consumer can make an honest decision. This type of business practice is what people are sick and tire of.
