I signed up for the $1 immediate viewing of my credit report. They started billing me for $19.95 7 days after the initial $1 purchase. Called them up and said this is wrong and the smarmy CSR said I knew exactly what I was signing. He was basically reading a script of every argument a customer could put forth. I told him how horrible it is to cheat a fellow American/human being and went to the internet to see what my recourse was. It seems I am not alone, and the state of Florida is investigating their bait and switch practices.
I reported freecreditreport.com to the BBB and their good cop TrustLink took over. Well the $19.95 was debited back into my account within 7 days, but TrustLink wants me to use this opportunity to give freecreditreport.com a positive review:
