I am convinced that the employees of TopStar Moving & Storage are con-artists and thieves. Foolishly, I chose this company based on their competitive quote, professional website, and very smooth-talking (via telephone) salesman. Perhaps because of my age (42), I am not as savvy at on-line research as other younger consumers may be - It was not until after these con-artists did not show up for my move (June 2011) that a friend looked up reviews of this company on several websites and found numerous complaints from people who had the same terrible experience I had. I also foolishly gave these con-artists my credit card number (+ security code on back) over the phone for a $100 deposit prior to the move. DO NOT GIVE TOPSTAR MOVERS YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER - they will take your $100 and will not show up to move you. Needless to say, they never credited back the $100 after failing to show up for my move. I had to change my debit/credit card number (and suffer the inconvenience of waiting for the new card in the midst of an out of state move), and my bank's fraud department is now dealing with getting the $100 back from this "company". I also had to scramble to find other movers on the day of the move - and of course had to pay exorbitant prices for a same-day schedule with other (reputable) movers. This is all due to my foolishness for picking TopStar Moving without doing the necessary research. Note that they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Save yourself grief - DO NOT USE TOPSTAR MOVING.
