DriveScrubber 3.0 I have three pc's - hp pavillion Vista32 5yrs old, hp touchsmart Win7 8GB 6 mo's old, dell D600 512k 10 yrs old. Error when running total wipe out on both hp's. Works fine on dell. My career has been in technical support and I recognized incompetence almost immediately when I called theirs. It has been ok in the past. All the typical stalling and lying techniques ("forwarded to sr. tech, inumerable kb article emails, talking to cust service shill who puts you on hold every few minutes while he goes and asks somebody, won't let you escalate issue and speak directly to tech support person except through anonymous email from which you never receive a reply, etc") The problem will never get solved. They are inundated with support tickets and have laid off tech people several times in the past 2 yrs. They use an old version of FreeDOS to boot from before reformatting and wiping the system drive. It still wants to see HIMEM, etc. - things I hardly remember and haven't seen for years. This incident cost me what I consider a lot of money and destroyed a regular customer relationship. At this point, they are at least responding to a refund request through anonymous email. January 2010.
